#3 | Gianna Owens | Defender

Gianna has been with the Dallas Texans Soccer Club since the summer of 2021 and currently plays for Coach Roderick Scott on the U-17G ECNL team. Her primary position is Center Back which she has been playing for the past 4 years, and she also plays outside back and holding midfielder. Previously she played U13 to U15 with the San Jose Earthquakes club under Development Academy Coach of the year Andres Deza. Coach Deza has trained some of the top women players in the game including Tiera Davidson, and has several players on the Youth National Teams. This meticulous training environment is where Gianna developed her unique technical skills.

Gianna was selected to attend the U14 girls Regional Training Camp in Chula Vista, California in February 2020. The mini camp was held for one week where she learned the Youth National Team concepts and position responsibilities which has helped her game excel to the next level. Her team went 2-0-1 in head to head competition at the high level camp that week. Gianna was selected for U16 YNT Virtual Camp this past April and is on her way to attend the US Soccer Regional Identification Center in Dallas this month. She is currently ranked #47 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings for the class of 2025.

Gianna currently attends Allen High School in Allen, Texas. She will play on the prestigious Allen High School soccer team, and is working hard to make the Varsity team as a Freshman. She is eyeing her college options, and knows that she wants to play at the highest level in the future.

Gianna is the daughter of Kelvin and Irene Owens. Her Grandfather is San Francisco 49er Hall of Famer R.C. Owens. She has two sisters (Alana 16, Evanna 7) that also play competitive soccer. Gianna has two brothers as well (Brandon 12, Boston 9) that play Football and Basketball. Some

of Gianna’s interest are playing the guitar and piano. Her family on her mother’s side comes from a talented musical background.
